This project included IFCM uncovering a value engineering initiative that saved the client an astounding ninety percent on a three million dollar line item. An estimator on the IFCM team was familiar with various fire proofing products, their performance and market rates, and felt a more valuable solution may be possible.
IFCM was able to secure an equal alternate to the specified fire proofing product, reducing the estimated three million dollar cost to just over three hundred thousand. Rarely are we able to achieve such drastic savings with equivalent changeouts, but this project proved that every product and service is worth a thorough review of alternates and options available.
